Abraham Quintanilla

Abraham Quintanilla, born on February 20, 1939, is a prominent American musician, producer, and songwriter, best known as the father of the late Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla. He played a crucial role in the development of Selena's career, serving as her manager and guiding her rise to stardom in the 1990s. Abraham's musical roots lie in the genres of Tejano and conjunto music, which are traditional Mexican-American styles. Quintanilla formed the band Selena y Los Dinos in the 1980s, which included his daughter Selena as the lead vocalist. Under his guidance, the band produced notable works such as "Ven Conmigo" (1990) and "Entre a Mi Mundo" (1992), both of which contributed significantly to the popularity of Tejano music. After Selena's tragic death in 1995, Abraham continued to promote her legacy, overseeing posthumous releases and establishing the Selena Foundation to support children and education.
