Andrew Woolfolk

Andrew Woolfolk (1950-2022) was an American saxophonist best known for his work with the influential funk and R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire. His primary instrument was the alto saxophone, but he also played the flute and contributed to the band’s rich horn arrangements. Woolfolk joined Earth, Wind & Fire in the early 1970s and became a key member during their most commercially successful period. Notable works include iconic tracks such as "Shining Star," "September," and "Let’s Groove," where his saxophone lines and harmonies played a significant role in defining the band’s sound.
