Bud Powell

Bud Powell (1924-1966) was an influential American jazz pianist and composer, primarily associated with the bebop genre. Considered one of the foremost pianists in jazz history, Powell's virtuosic technique and innovative harmonic language set new standards for jazz piano. He was heavily influenced by the style of Art Tatum and the innovations of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.
