Burke Shelley

Burke Shelley (born April 2, 1950) is a Welsh musician best known as the lead vocalist and bassist of the progressive rock band Budgie. Formed in 1967, Budgie is recognized for its heavy sound that blends elements of hard rock, progressive rock, and heavy metal, often characterized by intricate guitar riffs and Shelley’s distinctive voice. The band gained prominence in the 1970s with notable albums such as "Budgie" (1971), "In for the Kill!" (1974), and "Bandolier" (1975). Shelley’s contributions to music extend beyond his vocal and bass performances; he is also a prolific songwriter, crafting lyrics that often explore themes of fantasy and social commentary.
