Ilaiyaraaja, born on June 2, 1943, in Poochiyappan, Tamil Nadu, is an acclaimed Indian film composer, conductor, and songwriter, widely regarded as one of the greatest music composers in the history of Indian cinema. He predominantly works in Tamil films but has also composed for Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. His musical style blends classical Indian music with various genres, including folk, rock, and Western classical. Notable works include soundtracks for films like "Moondram Pirai" (1982), "Nayakan" (1987), and "Annamalai" (1992), showcasing his ability to evoke deep emotions through melody and orchestration.
