Michael Anthony

Michael Anthony is an American musician best known as the bassist and backing vocalist for the rock band Van Halen. Born on June 20, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, he became a key member of the band when it was formed in 1972, contributing to their distinctive sound with his harmonies and solid bass lines. Anthony’s work is prominently featured on classic Van Halen albums, including "Van Halen," "1984," and "5150," which helped define the hard rock genre in the late 20th century. After Van Halen's original lineup disbanded, he joined the supergroup Chickenfoot with ex-Van Halen guitarist Joe Satriani, former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2009 and received critical acclaim.
