Paul Gray

Paul Gray (1972–2010) was an American musician best known as the bassist and a key songwriter for the heavy metal band Slipknot. Gray's work primarily spanned the genres of nu metal and alternative metal, where he contributed to the band's aggressive sound and complex songwriting. Joining Slipknot in 1995, Gray was a prominent figure in the group, known for his distinctive mask and energetic performances. The band's self-titled debut album in 1999 and its follow-up, "Iowa" (2001), received critical acclaim and commercial success, solidifying their place in the metal scene. Notable tracks such as "Wait and Bleed" and "Duality" showcased Gray's contributions to Slipknot's intense style. Gray was also involved in various side projects, including the supergroup Murderdolls. His impact on music is marked by his influence on the nu metal genre and his role in bringing heavy music to a wider audience.
