Polo Montañez

Polo Montañez, born Antonio A. García in 1955 in Cuba, was a prominent Cuban singer-songwriter renowned for his contributions to the genre of nueva trova and Cuban folk music. He gained fame in the late 1990s with his debut album, "Guitarra Mía" (1994), which showcased his heartfelt lyrics and distinctive voice. His music often reflected the beauty of rural life and the struggles of the Cuban people, blending traditional Cuban sounds with contemporary influences. Notable works include "Un Montón de Estrellas" and "Cómo te Voy a Olvidar," which resonated deeply with audiences both in Cuba and internationally.
