Rachel Goswell

Rachel Goswell is an English musician, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the shoegaze band Slowdive. Born on May 16, 1971, in Reading, England, she emerged in the early 1990s as a prominent figure in the alternative music scene. Slowdive's ethereal sound, characterized by lush guitar textures and contemplative lyrics, helped define the shoegaze genre, with their seminal album "Souvlaki" (1993) being a critical highlight. In addition to her work with Slowdive, Goswell has been involved in various side projects, including the band Mojave 3, which embraced a more alt-country and folk sound.
