Rakim

Rakim, born William Michael Griffin Jr. on January 28, 1968, is an influential American rapper and one half of the hip-hop duo Eric B. & Rakim. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most innovative lyricists in the history of hip-hop. His work is primarily rooted in the genre of hip-hop, specifically golden age hip-hop. Rakim gained prominence with the release of the duo's debut album, "Paid in Full," in 1987, which is often cited as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. The title track and songs like "Eric B. Is President" and "I Ain't No Joke" showcased Rakim's complex lyricism and smooth delivery, setting new standards for rap. His follow-up albums, including "Follow the Leader" (1988) and "Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em" (1990), further solidified his legacy.
