Sean Reinert

Sean Reinert (1971-2020) was an influential American drummer and songwriter, best known for his work in the progressive metal genre. He gained prominence as a member of the seminal band Cynic, which he co-founded in 1987. Their debut album, "Focus" (1993), is regarded as a landmark in progressive metal, blending jazz, metal, and complex time signatures, and has influenced countless musicians and bands in the genre. Reinert also played with the death metal band Death, contributing to the critically acclaimed album "Human" (1991), which showcased his technical prowess and innovative drumming style.
