Steve Clark

Steve Clark (1960-1991) was an English guitarist best known as a founding member of the rock band Def Leppard. Emerging from the new wave of British heavy metal in the late 1970s, Clark's guitar work was pivotal in defining the band's signature sound, characterized by melodic hooks and layered harmonies. Clark contributed to several of Def Leppard’s most notable albums, including "Pyromania" (1983) and "Hysteria" (1987), both of which achieved multi-platinum status. The latter album featured hits like "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and "Love Bites," showcasing Clark’s innovative guitar techniques and his ability to blend hard rock with pop sensibilities. Despite his musical success, Clark struggled with personal issues, including alcohol and substance abuse, which ultimately led to his untimely death in 1991.
