Swans

Swans is an American experimental rock band formed in 1982 in New York City by Michael Gira. Known for their intense sound, Swans blends elements of post-punk, noise rock, and industrial music, often characterized by heavy use of dynamics and a hypnotic, immersive style. Their early work, particularly albums like "Filth" (1983) and "Children of God" (1987), showcased a confrontational approach, incorporating themes of violence, spirituality, and existentialism. In the early '90s, Gira disbanded Swans, pursuing other projects like The Angels of Light. However, the band reformed in 2010, producing critically acclaimed albums such as "My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky" (2010) and "To Be Kind" (2014), which further explored their sonic evolution.
