Victor Uwaifo

Victor Uwaifo (1934-2021) was a prominent Nigerian musician, sculptor, and academic, renowned for his significant contributions to the highlife genre, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s. He was born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Uwaifo’s music blended traditional African rhythms with Western influences, showcasing the vibrant cultural tapestry of Nigeria.
