Wilko Johnson

Wilko Johnson, born John Wilkinson on July 12, 1947, in Canvey Island, England, is a renowned guitarist, songwriter, and actor, best known for his work in the rhythm and blues genre. He gained prominence in the early 1970s as a founding member of the band Dr. Feelgood, which played a pivotal role in the pub rock movement and the development of punk rock. Johnson's distinctive fingerstyle guitar technique and energetic stage presence helped define the band's sound, characterized by raw, driving rhythms and sharp, concise songwriting. Notable works include Dr. Feelgood's albums "Down by the Jetty" (1975) and "Malpractice" (1975), as well as his later solo albums, such as "Going Back Home" (2014), a collaboration with The Who's Roger Daltrey.
