Matmatah

Matmatah is a French rock band formed in 1995 in Brest, Brittany. Their music primarily blends rock with elements of folk and punk, characterized by catchy melodies and poetic lyrics. The band gained widespread recognition with their debut album, "La Ouache" (1998), which featured hits like "Lambé An Dro" and "Le Jour s'est levé." Their energetic sound and culturally resonant themes quickly established them as a significant presence in the French music scene. Matmatah's follow-up albums, such as "Polaroïd" (2000) and "À prendre ou à laisser" (2003), further solidified their popularity, showcasing their ability to evolve while maintaining their distinctive style. After a hiatus in 2007, they reunited in 2015, releasing "Plates coutures" in 2019, which reaffirmed their relevance in contemporary music.
