The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta is an American progressive rock band formed in 2001 in El Paso, Texas, by former At the Drive-In members Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López. The band's sound blends elements of progressive rock, jazz fusion, and Latin music, characterized by complex song structures, intricate time signatures, and a fusion of genres.

Their debut album, De-Loused in the Comatorium (2003), received critical acclaim and is often regarded as a seminal work in the 2000s progressive rock revival. Other notable albums include Frances the Mute (2005), Amputechture (2006), and The Bedlam in Goliath (2008), each showcasing their ambitious and experimental approach.
